The challenge
For the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026, Supermall Karawaci commissioned Livindo to conceive and engineer a monumental holiday installation in its four-story open Grand Atrium:
- Massive Vertical Atrium Volume: The vast ceiling void demanded impressive vertical sightlines visible from every surrounding mezzanine and escalator balcony.
- Intricate Islamic Arabesque Filigree: Complex interlocking star patterns and geometric fretwork required laser-precise CNC cutting with smooth inner edge radii.
- Multi-Purpose Live Performance Stage: The central area underneath the primary dome had to host active modest-wear fashion runways, acoustic Islamic musical performances, and weekend community gatherings.
Our approach
- Precision 3D CNC Gold Filigree Dome:
The focal dome spanned 6 meters in diameter, featuring intricate Middle Eastern cut-out tracery produced on Livindo's industrial CNC routing tables. Fabricated with lightweight high-strength tubular steel and sealed with metallic pearl-gold duco, the dome appeared to float effortlessly.
- Twin Minarets & Moorish Horseshoe Arches:
Flanking the dome were 7.5-meter architectural minarets topped with illuminated crescent moon finials. The entrance portals incorporated multi-cusped Moorish horseshoe arches detailed with classic ornamental cornices.
- Turquoise Highlights & Marble Geometry:
Complementing the warm gold palette, accent panels were painted in deep jewel-toned turquoise with Islamic tessellation motifs framed in bright gold leaf moulding.
- Shadow Projection Lighting:
Concealed high-output architectural LED spots positioned inside the dome projected filigree shadow patterns across the terrazzo atrium floor at dusk, enveloping the space in an enchanting spiritual ambience.
Outcome
The Ramadan 2026 installation at Supermall Karawaci emerged as the visual centerpiece of Tangerang's festive shopping season. Drawing extensive family footfall and high social media engagement throughout the fasting month, it further solidified Livindo’s standing as Indonesia’s premier retail spatial contractor.
